Sailboat On Calm Lake
Person-centred counselling

1

A counselling space led by you, supported by Louise.

Person-centred counselling is based on the belief that you are the expert in your own life.

You may not feel like that right now. You may feel lost, overwhelmed or unsure where to begin. But the answers are not handed to you from outside. They are discovered through a safe, trusting relationship where you can explore yourself honestly.

Louise will not diagnose, direct or judge you. She will listen closely, reflect gently, and help you make connections between what you feel now and what may have shaped you before.

Counselling for anger

2

Anger is often not the whole story.

Anger can feel powerful, frightening or out of control. It can damage relationships, create shame, or leave you wondering why you react the way you do.

But anger often has something underneath it: fear, hurt, shame, grief, trauma, a need that was never met, or a feeling that never had anywhere safe to go.

At Harbourlight Counselling, Louise gives you space to understand your anger without being judged for it.

Counselling for trauma and difficult past experiences

3

You are not what happened to you.

Difficult experiences can shape how you see yourself, how safe you feel, how you respond to others, and what you believe you deserve.

You may have spent years minimising it, comparing it, or telling yourself it should not still affect you. But if it still lives in your body, your reactions, your relationships or your sense of self, it matters.

Counselling for addiction and harmful patterns

4

Look beneath the pattern.

Addiction and harmful patterns are often ways of coping with something deeper.

They may bring temporary relief, distraction or escape, but leave behind shame, guilt or a feeling of being stuck.

Counselling with Louise can help you explore what the pattern is doing for you, what sits underneath it, and what you may need in order to make different choices.

Counselling for anxiety, shame and low self-worth

5

You do not have to carry it quietly.

Anxiety, shame and low self-worth can affect how you see yourself, how you relate to others, and how safe you feel in daily life.

You might look like you are coping on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, tense, disconnected or not good enough inside.

Counselling gives you space to slow down, talk honestly, and begin to understand where those feelings come from.

Counselling for people who find talking difficult

6

You do not need the perfect words.

Some people worry that they will not know what to say in counselling.

Some worry they will be judged, misunderstood, or unable to explain what is really going on.

You do not need to arrive with everything worked out. You can start with whatever feels present, even if that is confusion, anger, numbness, anxiety or not knowing where to begin.

Louise will meet you there.
